Resumption of racing at SRCCC

Outdoor and indoor meetings at SRCCC have returned to the normal days, times, classes and format as described on our Club Info page, but all participants are required to adhere to the BRCA guidance for outdoor or indoor racing as applicable. Participants must also follow the additional procedures set out below. These are intended to ensure that drivers have a safe and enjoyable time whilst also protecting our families and the wider community.

Booking and Payment

  • Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Advance booking is mandatory.
    • A coordinator for each circuit will post on the club Facebook group approx 4 days before each race meeting to open bookings –
    • Comment on that post with your name and class to request a place.
    • If you are a guest (non-member) please also make this clear in your comment.  On your first booking you must contact the coordinator by private message to provide the following details: name, address, DOB, email, phone number, BRCA number. This is the same information we hold for club members, and will be held in accordance with our Privacy Policy in order to verify BRCA membership and to meet our statutory coronavirus track & trace obligations.
    • If you don’t have a Facebook account, email requests to one of the following email addresses:
    • Coordinator will allocate spaces and limit numbers in the unlikely event a meeting is oversubscribed.
      • First allocation of places goes to drivers who have not yet had a run since lockdown. Among this group we give precedence to
        1. Existing members(pre-lockdown) who used to drive on that track+day (e.g. Thursday evening)
        2. Other existing members (pre-lockdown)
        3. New members (post-lockdown)
        4. Non-members
      • After that, if there are places remaining we allocate in rotation based on when each driver last got a run.
    • Coordinator will post again on Facebook to confirm allocations two days prior to the session (where possible)
    • A nominated race director per circuit per session will attend to oversee activities.
    • Decisions of the booking coordinator are final.
  • Race fee per drivers per session is £5 members or £8 non-members and must be paid…
    • Only after a session place has been allocated
    • No later than end of day prior to the session
    • By PayPal to (as friend)
    • Payment reference must indicate driver surname, first initial and session date in any reasonable format, e.g. smith-j-7-jun

Additional Equipment To Pack

Every driver (and adult guardian if under 18) must bring their own:

  • Face covering/mask
  • Sturdy gloves (not disposable)
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Pit table and/or chair as required (on-road and indoors)
  • All the spares, equipment and tools you require (no sharing)

At the Circuit

General Instructions
  • All participants must conform to social distancing and hygiene rules, including:
    • 1m+ separation at all times. This means 2m+ separation wherever possible, or 1-2m separation with a face covering.
    • Regular use of hand sanitiser.
  • Gloves must be worn for marshalling and when moving club equipment (e.g. setting up or packing away the circuit)
  • Rostrum – Drivers must stand with 2m separation.  Spacing may be reduced to 1m if all drivers wear a face covering. This will depend on the number of competitors and heat sizes.
  • Participants are responsible for cleaning any equipment or structures before and after use. The Club will provide suitable cleaning solution, paper towels and/or wipes.
  • Do not attend if you are unwell. Inform the booking coordinator by private message or email if you become unwell or test positive for Coronavirus after attending a session. 
Outdoor Specific Instructions
  • Off-road and On-road race circuits should operate as separate facilities.  Avoid interaction between participants of the adjacent circuits.
  • For the current off-road rostrum a maximum of 3 drivers without face coverings or 5 if all wear face coverings.
  • The toilets facilities are available for use but must be kept clean by each user
    • Please sanitise your hands before and after using the toilet. A bottle of sanitiser is provided
    • Please wipe the contact areas before and after you use the facility. A pack of wipes is in each toilet
    • Please place the used wipes in the bin provided
Indoor Specific Instructions
  • Abide by all signage erected in the Deane’s centre and any instructions given by centre staff
  • Track set-up from 6pm. Racing from (approx) 7pm.  If you’re not assisting with track set-up please give space to those who are so they can work safely. You may prefer to wait outside until 6:30.
  • Pit tables to be placed against the wall such that drivers are seated facing the wall across their table and at least 2m apart. (yep, like one big school detention)
  • Face covering must be worn at all times in the hall except when seated at your own pit table, facing the wall and 2m+ from other competitors.
